Check out our handy Activity Calendar (accessible from the website under the ‘Training’ tab) to help you stay on top of them all. You can even add it to your Google Calendar account by clicking the “+ on the bottom right.

Exercise Top Squad

Exercise Top Squad is a fun inter-unit competition run by the Ashburton Army Cadets (ACU) held this year on 27-29 May. Check out the Warning Order on the Forms Page for more details. Get in quick on CadetNet!

Unit Support Committee AGM

A reminder to Parents and Caregivers that the Unit Support Committee Annual General Meeting and election of the USC executive  will be held this week Thursday, April 7. All parents are urged to consider attending this meeting to support the Civilian side of the Unit. By attending you will not be obliged to accept any post or jobs in the USC but you would be most welcome to join this friendly group, new members are always welcome. Nominations for the executive positions close at 18:00 hours 6th April.

The meeting will be held in the committee room at 19:00 hours. If you are dropping cadets off earlier you are welcome to wait in the committee room until the meeting starts. Weather permitting there will be a unit parade prior to the meeting which you are welcome to view.

New Recruit Open Day #2 This Saturday!

Our second (and final) New Recruit Open day is happening this Saturday, 5th March 10am-12pm. Make sure your friends and family who are interested in joining Cadets know about this date! They can register at https://www.17squadronatc.com/product/recruiting-open-day/

If you or your friends/family already know you want to enrol, go to www.17squadronatc.com/recruiting/ and fill out the online form.

Then, just turn up on Thursday! Due to the Red Traffic Light restrictions, we have split our facility into two and are using two different entrances. Basic One (First Year) Cadets will be entering via the entrance at Isitt Lane. Cadets can be dropped off at the corner of Isitt Lane and Harvard Ave, and then wait by the security gate from 6:10pm until 6:25pm (there will be someone waiting to look after them), and they’ll be escorted through the gate in groups.

Recruit Open Day #2

We will be holding a second open day on Sunday 27th February from 1400 (2pm) – 1600 (4pm). This will include a drill demonstration,  information on what the programme involves, and how to enroll, as well as viewing our facilities and participating in some Cadet activities.

Please be aware Wigram Cadet Forces Base is a vaccine mandated location and therefore you must be fully vaccinated in order to join 17 Squadron.
